Two high-rise office towers built in the 1970s, which were rebuilt several times in subsequent years, are being transformed into an ultra-modern hotel and residential tower with a fantastic view of the Frankfurt skyline and the Taunus hills.

The project

In the first step, a total gutting was carried out, combined with extensive demolition measures and a complete dismantling of the existing façade, so that only parts of the shell remained. In the second step, the new building and revitalisation measures will be realised.

As the construction project is located in the inner city, embedded in the residential district of Frankfurt's Westend, it was necessary to keep the construction noise away from the residents. Thus, a 6-metre-high freestanding noise barrier was realised by BCL and erected towards the neighbouring property in order to reduce the noise pollution as far as possible.

BCL is responsible for the construction logistics planning and for the execution of construction logistics.

Special challenges: this is a complex inner-city construction project; the space conditions on and around the construction site are tight. In addition, noise protection measures were necessary.
